Hobby Obstacles

Designing your course

Gate.

A simple rope gate to open and close, attached to 2 uprights, fixed on one side.

Arch.

A curtain to pass through, made of strips of fabric, ribbon, or maybe a bought fly curtain.

Supported by 2 uprights - height should be 1.5 times the height of the competitor (or taller)

Weave.

5x markers / cones placed 1.5m apart.

Narrow Gap.

2x barriers - could be jump fillers / poles supported either end to form a narrow corridor,

width should be 1m - length at least 2m (show jump pole length is good)

Trotting Poles.

5x markers / cones placed 1.5m apart.

Podium.

A small platform that should be easy enough to step up onto and off in height, and wide enough

to comfortably to stand on.

Flag.

A flag on a stick - homemade or bought - no smaller then the size of a tea towel,

stick length approx 0.5m

Obstacle Construction

Care and consideration should be given when constructing your obstacles.
Make sure they are strong and safe,
as you don't want them to blow down in the wind.
where you can use screws instead of nails.

The Judge

All our entries are judged by an AGILITY QUALIFIED judge.

The judge must be able to clearly see at all times, the entrant.
